APPRECIATION AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The Marian Symposium is one of the very important ecclesial events in the Church in India. This followed our Research Seminar which is the jubilee heritage. The overwhelming response shows that Marian topics and values are not stale. There are many who worked before the symposium, during the symposium and after the symposium. The research scholars substantially contributed for the success of this event by their participation. I thank them for their dispassionate research. The enlightening proceedings of the symposium were largely possible - thanks to a team which cooperated from the pre-preparatory phase till the final day. More notably they are Frs. P. Arockiadoss, sj., D. Alphonse, Jacob Parapally, tnsfs., Dominic Veliath, sdb., Antony Kalliath, cmi, Srs. Evelyn Monteiro, sec., Philomena D'Souza, fma and Kochurani. I specially appreciate Fr. R.K. Samy for his soulful commitment and efficient coordination. All of them deserve our encomiums. We also thank the Bishops who presided over the conferences and the Moderators who so ably conducted the sessions. We thank Fr. F. Arokiasamy who rendered a very creative and meaningful logo. The Symposium which is reminiscent of the 'upper room event' was supported by the Propagation of Faith, Rome. While thanking them, we also remember the encouragement of Msgr. Ignaci Siluvai the National Director of PMS. We thank Fr. David Fleming, SM, the Superior General and the Marianists Community at the University of Dayton for nurturing the inspiration. Ms Durga has gone through all the pages very meticulously and has tried to make it reader-friendly. I am grateful to the ever committed staff of NBCLC who showed keen interest in all the different stages. I acknowledge all those who helped for the success of this event. May the Heavenly Father who sees what is in secret bless them all!! Fr. Thomas D'Sa Director |
