To seek understanding the words and actions of Jesus through dialogue and prayerful pondering. To study and propagate the role of Mary in the plan of God, in the ministries of the Church, and the implication of her magnificat in the socio-economic, religio-cultural and politico-ideological transformation of the world especially from subaltern perspectives. To encourage Marian studies in all its dimensions, and help for the right orientation for Marian devotion to usher in the unity Jesus desired in the light of the Magisterium. |

Marian Academy of India is a registered Society under the Karnataka Registration Act of 1960. it was registered on 24th February Saturday 2007, with the approval and encouragement of the General Body members of All India Biblical Catechetical and Liturgical Center (NBCLC), in their meeting on 26th September 2006 at St. John's Medical College in Bangalore. The NBCLC premise will be the office of this academy. His Eminence Telesphore Cardinal Toppo in his letter dated February 16th, 2007 has accepted joyfully to be the Episcopal Chairman and Patron. There are Charter members and office bearers. The Academy or Society is directed by its Governing Body. The affirmative action to have a woman among the office bearers and a considerable number of women members in the governing body are in the very Constitution of the Academy. As and when there is need, regional units will be encouraged. |

Professional Members are those who have a degree in theology, religious or related disciplines. Those who have a diploma in Marian Institutes also can be in this category. Those who have a long standing academic interest and expertise in Marian and related studies also could be Professional Members.
Supportive or Associate Members are those who share the aims of the Academy and wish to be associated with its endeavors through generous contribution of time, talents, and financial resources and support the activities. Anyone who believes that Mary is the icon of right relationality with herself, with her neighbors and with God is welcome to join this Academy to be partners with Jesus, Shrine Rectors are welcome to be honorary members. |

Mary is the manifestation of a triple dialogue: dialogue of head, dialogue of heart and dialogue of hands. These dialogues will help the members to imbibe her openness Lk 1:34, her care Jn 2:3, her steadfastness Jn 19:25, and her role in the early Church Acts 1:14. The dialogues of religion, culture and life must pass through the above triple dialogue to bear fruit. |

The Academy publishes the deliberations of its annual meetings and study seminars, surveys and the result of symposia. There will be one annual Journal besides biannual News Letters. It also publishes books on Mary and other related themes, some time on its own and some times jointly with other organizations.

The Academy on its own or jointly organizes programs besides Its annual meetings. The details of the programmes are available from the office of the Academy. Symposia, Seminars and other annual lectures on Marian dimension, women empowerment and etc. are conducted periodically. The Academy welcomes initiatives from any interested person/s or group/s to undertake conferences, surveys and cross boarder research in the related themes. |
